A Man Has Been Charged In The Murder Of Former NBA Player And Father of 6 Lorenzen Wright

The 34-year-old was shot and killed in a Memphis suburb in 2010.

The 2010 murder of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright had gone unsolved for many years.

But that all might have changed Tuesday when Memphis Police and the local Shelby County District Attorney announced that they arrested a man in the murder of the former 34-year-old forward and father of six, as reported by LocalMemphis.com.

Billy Turner, 46, was arrested and indicted on the charge of first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond, as the D.A. told the website that the investigation into the case continues. According to the website, Wright was last seen leaving his ex-wife's home on July 18, 2010, before his body was found 10 days later in a field in Collierville, Tennessee.

Below you'll find the surveillance video of Turner being arrested.

According to TMZ Sports, police caught a break in the cold case last month when they found a gun they believe was used to murder Wright. It was discovered in a lake roughly 50 miles from where the former NBA player was found dead.

Here are some of those details, as they were announced by authorities yesterday.

And Turner's mugshot has also been making the rounds on the internet.

Upon learning about Turner being arrested and in custody, Wright's mom, Deborah Marion, vowed that she'll visit the cemetery her son is buried in and lay down "victory flowers," so "his soul can rest."

Wright played in the NBA from 1996 until 2009.
