This Video Shows Google Images' Truly Racist Algorithm in Action
Institutional racism reveals itself in some interesting ways. The most recent indicator of the way Black teens and white teens are perceived differently by society came by way of a simple Google Images search.
Twitter user @IBeKabir stumbled upon the double standard when he searched "three Black teens" in Google Images. Immediately after, he searched "three white teens." The difference in the results goes way beyond skin color and is truly startling:
Are you surprised by this or nah?
It's not clear what's behind these startling results, but this little experiment has got to have the engineers over at Google Images a little shook.
