The Struggle Continues for the Men of the Million Man March

BET News is on the ground for the 20th anniversary event.

Hundreds of thousands united Saturday at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., where two decades ago the first Million Man March took place, and some 30 years before that, Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech.

This year, once again under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, the Million Man March 20th anniversary was about "Justice or Else!" for Black Americans who have been consistently brutalized by the police and marginalized by society.

"Ferguson ignited it all," Farrakhan said. "So all the brothers and sisters from Ferguson, all the brothers and sisters that laid in the streets, all the brothers and sisters that challenged the tanks, we are honored that you have come to represent."

"Our communities is terrible right now," said one attendee from the Bronx, "liquor stores on every corner... there's no opportunity. I got sons, I feel sorry for them that they got to grow up and deal with everything that they got to deal with now... it's time for change."

BET News was on the ground for this crucial and historic event, which drew families, organizations and celebrities from around the country, including J. Cole, Snoop, Common and Trayvon Martin's mom, Sybrina Fulton. Watch more of our coverage of Justice or Else! in the video below.
