Kanye West Is Running for President in 2020

Yeezy drops a bombshell during passionate VMA speech.

Kanye West has joined Waka Flocka Flame, Deez Nuts and Donald Trump in the quest for the White House. This year's MTV Video Music Awards' Vanguard of the Year recipient used the stage as a soapbox when he went up to accept his award on Sunday night, capping off a rambling speech with a major bombshell: he's running for President.
While 'Ye won't be stealing any of Hillary Clinton's thunder in the 2016 election (his wife Kim Kardashian is a close and personal friend of the former senator, after all), he will seek the nomination in 2020. “I don’t know what’s gonna happen tonight, and I don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow," West said to the crowd. "I don’t know what I’m gonna lose after this — it don’t matter though because it ain’t about me, it’s about new ideas bro, people with ideas, people who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Given Kanye's grand ambitions we have no idea whether or not to take this seriously, but if we have to give Donald Trump serious consideration as a candidate, is Yeezy such a bad choice? He frequently weaves political messages into his lyrics, and, in fact, this year is not only the 10th anniversary of the release of his now-iconic Late Registration album, it's ten years since he uttered the phrase that resonated with an entire community: "George Bush doesn't care about Black people."
