Amber Rose Shows Support for Ex-Hubby Wiz Khalifa at Listening Party
Following a week of making headlines for some pre-Yeezy Season drama, Amber Rose came out to show support for her ex, Wiz Khalifa, who she referred to lovingly as “Sebastian’s Dad” in an Instagram post from the event.
In advance of his new studio album, Khalifa, slated for release this Friday, February 5, Khalifa hosted a listening party at a swanky club in New York City’s Meatpacking District.
Briefly addressing the crowd of friends, family and industry insiders, Khalifa brought attention to the fact that after a week of some good ol' fashion beef of the ex-lover variety, it’s being left in the past, shouting Rose out, saying, “Thank you for being here, my baby mama.”
The evening followed in the same manner, with zero drama and Wiz enjoying listening to the fruits of his labor, singing along to his own songs and greeting friends in between blunt rips.
As guests sipped on drinks in Khalifa-branded styrofoam cups, the exceptionally brave and spontaneous were allotted the option of signing up to get free tattoos, courtesy of Wiz and tattoo artists from the Manhattan-based shop Bang Bang. Collaborating together to create a Khalifa-themed flash sheet, guests could choose from a variety of designs, including Wiz’s King of Everything crown logo, praying hands holding a joint, a marijuana leaf, a cross, a heart or a star.
Throughout the dimly lit club were tables accented with bowls of products in line with Khalifa and Travi$ Scott smoker’s anthem, “Bake Sale,” including RAW rolling papers and lighters bearing the Khalifa logo through their partnership, which was recently renewed. In addition to working with RAW, Khalifa announced today (February 4) that he will be collaborating with RiverRock Cannabis to sell a variety of regulated marijuana strains, fittingly to be available later this spring on April 20.
Khalifa, which Wiz pointed out features all in-house production, was played over the club’s sound system, with his tour DJ, Bonics, introducing each track, including “Cowboy,” “No Permission” and “Lit on Khalifa.” One of the tracks also features his son, Sebastian, as the two go back and forth in between recorded laughter.
“I hope everyone has a good time because that’s what music is all about.” Khalifa said while grinning after the album was through it’s first spin. “I appreciate you all for coming out and listening to the album. It seems to have went over well!
