Run That Back: This Week in Music Featuring Young Thug, Vince Staples and More

Our music staff picks their favorite songs released August 19-26.

A few big releases came out this week.

Young Thug dropped his much-talked about cover art for No, My Name Is JEFFERY, and then dropped the album. So far, the internets are buzzing from it. Check it out here.

Vince Staples dropped his Prima Donna EP to tide fans over until his next full-length project. Listen to the full thing here.

Lil Uzi Vert, Usher and others all dropped new music this week. Check out some of staff favorites below.

Goldlink Featuring Ciscero – 'Fall in Love'

As cuffing season is steadily approaching, GoldLink has us all up in our feelings with his latest, "Fall in Love." The track brings a dancier feel to romance complemented by a guest feature from Ciscero. Light on the mush but heavy on the sexy, GoldLink has another hit to close out the summer. — Kathy Iandoli

Young Thug Featuring Gucci Mane and Gunna – 'Floyd Mayweather'

If Young Thug's new album cover was enough for you, it most likely stopped you from peeping JEFFERY. If not, "Floyd Mayweather" may be one of the songs you should peep first. Featuring a new-and-improved Gucci Mane, along with Gunna, the song has some good bounce. — Paul Meara

Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings – 'I’m Still Here'

Sharon Jones’s voice is iconic even if it is often overlooked. “I’m Still Here,” a new track recorded for an amazing documentary – MISS SHARON JONES! – about her health and career struggles, was finally officially released among the doc’s soundtrack. Sharon takes you through a sung version of her personal history over blaring horns. Once she belts out “I’m still here…” it’s like you want to stand in front of a punching bag and start swinging. The track works alongside the inspirational film perfectly. Unfortunately, Sharon has been diagnosed with cancer once again, and once again, you’re left rooting for her, not just because a voice like that is one in a million but because her unfailing spirit is much needed. — Jon Reyes

Lil Uzi Vert – 'Team Rocket (Tokimonsta Remix)'

Like everything else she's touched, Tokimonsta takes Uzi Vert's "Team Rocket" to a new level with Mike Will-esque slaps and Yeezus-like hints of electrofunk. If you got a system in the whip, get ready to have this one on repeat for a minute. — Jacob Rohn

Banks and Steelz – 'Can’t Hardly Feel'

When Wu-Tang Clan mastermind The RZA announced he was teaming up with Interpol frontman Paul Banks, fans were curious (but had an idea) of what that would possibly sound like. Sprinkling this summer with singles, it’s clear that together, the duo are doing something entirely different than their norm, while also highlighting each other’s strengths, making for what arguably is one of the most interesting collaborations of the late summer. Their debut full length, Anything But Words, is available today via Warner Bros. and throughout the 12-track offering, the pair is proving that part of being a legendary musician, in their own respective right, comes down to the veteran ability to transcend genre. While Banks and Steelz may not be everyone’s preferred sound, it is undeniable that what they are doing, they are doing well. — KC Orcutt
