This Kid Is Using Kendrick Lamar’s 'DAMN.' Album To Try To Get A Job

Now that's a forward thinker.

Kendrick Lamar’s latest studio album, DAMN., was undoubtedly his best work yet. And nearly five months after its release, the project is still making a big impact on fans. In particular, one fan is using the album to help him land a job and it’s pretty spectacular.

Dawayne Kirkland is determined to land an internship with VaynerMedia and is ready to do whatever it takes. To show the digital agency what he is truly capable of, the recent Cazenovia College grad submitted an application with a digital resume inspired by Kendrick’s album.

In the one-minute video, Kirkland uses K. Dot’s popular track “DNA” in order to rap about why he is qualified for the position. "I got, I got, I got, I got internship on internship inside my resume," Dawayne raps. "In that visual communications I got BFA/Every time I get behind computer I make a soufflé/I can fix your homie website, I can even illustrate."

He then continues to point out his strongest attributes with some great wordplay. "You won’t find this in  diary that I’m a hard worker/And you can criticize and I won’t take it personal/I know there’s room to rise/I hope this emphasized that for the job I’m fit/And if you’re Pennywise, you’ll realize I’m really it," he spits.

For the visuals, Kirkland placed a photo of himself on the cover of the DAMN. album and added special effects to make his mouth move.

Kirkland’s digital resume has gotten more than 800,000 views since he uploaded it to YouTube on Monday (Sept. 25). It’s unclear whether the recent grad nabbed the job, but any company would be stupid not to hire someone as talented as him.
