After recent photos of Mariah Carey’s beach bae-cation with dancer Bryan Tanaka surfaced on social media, so did the shade.

And finding himself centered smack in the middle of it was none other than Mimi’s ex-husband and father of her twins, Nick Cannon. 

The photos of the Hollywood starlet prancing and dancing along the beach with Tanaka as the two shared smooches and sunshine prompted comparisons to an eerily similar beach vacation of Mimi's. 

In the throwback photos, Mimi looks just as smitten as she does in the recent photos as she frolics along the beach in a black bikini. Only that time, it was Nick Cannon who was scooping her up in his arms as the two snapped flirty poses for the camera. To pay reminiscent (and petty) tribute to their pre-divorce days, Cannon posted one of the photos from the vacation to remind everyone how it’s done.

Shortly afterward, however, he assured fans that no malice was intended as he posted another flick of the 2009 beach shoot with the "Always Be My Baby" singer. 

"It's all love! No hate!," he wrote. "But damn we looked amazing! Energy evolves and frequencies change but love never dies."

Saluting the "Queen," Cannon added that he will always see her as family despite the divisive naysayers.
