Quavo Agrees To Remake The National Anthem

"I want to do a 2017 anthem ... for all races."

Earlier this month, fans rallied behind Quavo in hopes of convincing the Migos frontman to rework the country's national anthem. Over a thousand signatures later on the Change.org petition and a hilarious spoof in between, the rapper has responded.

Initially, the "Bad and Boujee" trap star took to Twitter to address the hefty request. "So, they want Huncho to be featured on the national anthem ... let's roll," the Atlanta native wrote to his nearly one million followers. But in a recent run-in with TMZ  it seems as though Huncho's revamping of the "Star Spangled Banner" may come under one condition ― it must be inclusive of all races.

“There’s a lot going behind the national anthem,” Quavo told TMZ. “I would love to do it, but I wanna do a 2017 national anthem for both people and all races. Something that’s representing now. Something that representing the modern day national anthem.”

The "T-Shirt" rapper also revealed that in order for the track to come to fruition it would require several key ingredients. First, Quavo would need to round up some "good musicians." Then, he would have to put his pen game to the test and produce "something very strong and powerful."

While it's unclear how Quavo could possibly pull off changing the anthem, which has withstood the test of time since 1814, the petition created by fans continues to gain traction. Initially set at gaining a total of 7,000 signatures, the form now boasts well over that and has a set a new goal of 10,000 supporters.
