Kid Cudi Taps Into His Emotions on 'Confused'
Kid Cudi grapples with mental obstacles on his new single, “Confused,” released over the weekend. The lead track from his upcoming Speeding Bullet to Heaven album leans towards the ‘90s alternative rock era.
Vocally, Cudi’s sounds a bit like Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis, but the subject matter appears to be all his own. “All I want is to feel complete,” he sings. “Who am I/Who are we? Confused.”
Mentions of self-medicating to “numb” the pain, and suicidal thoughts, weave throughout the track, which is sonically upbeat despite the content.
Cudi’s new album, Speeding Bullet to Heaven, bows sometime this year.
