The Woman Keyshia Cole Allegedly Attacked Over Birdman Wants $4 Million

Sources say the incident occurred at Baby's L.A. penthouse.

Oakland-bred R&B songstress Keyshia Cole has been keeping a low profile lately, at least up until her forthcoming appearance on the new season of Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood.

However, a new lawsuit stemming from a 2014 incident where she allegedly assaulted a woman could potentially lead her to a high-profile legal spat for the world to see.

According to TMZ, Sabrina Mercadel will be taking Cole to court for up to $4 million after the reported attack that took place at an L.A. penthouse owned by Birdman, whom Cole was dating at the time. The story has it that Cole popped up at the home and was allowed into the building by a security guard. When she found Mercadel there, the allegations hold, Cole immediately threw punches and scratches in a violent fit. Mercadel later revealed that she and the Cash Money boss were only friends, and she’d been in town visiting. However, Cole was consequently arrested  for misdemeanor battery and a restraining order from Mercadel was granted by a judge following the incident as well.

She initially had Baby’s building named in the suit also, but dropped those charges for unnamed reasons afterward. Though the suit was filed in 2014, Mercadel’s going full-force on her payment requests to cover the injuries. TMZ lists them as $1.5 million in pain and suffering, $500,000 for emotional distress, $200,000 for future medical expenses, $50,000 for loss of earnings, $300,000 for future loss of earnings and $2 million for loss of use of body part. She could be referring to the permanently damaged finger she claimed happened as a result of the incident.

Now she must play the waiting game on both Cole and the overseeing judge, as TMZ concludes that the amount requested for each damage must be approved in the meantime.
