Rejoice: Eric B. & Rakim Announce They're Back and Better Than Ever

They have some big news.

2016 continues to be a strong year for comebacks, as more and more iconic musicians are graciously coming off the bench to dust off their talents and get back down to the business of creating powerful and exciting music at a time where we arguably need them the most.

Legendary rap duo Eric B. Rakim are the latest artists to answer the call, taking to Twitter to announce that after officially parting ways in 1993, they're back now and gearing up to be better than ever.

"It's official," the duo casually posted on their Twitter. "You heard it hear first. We are back."

As fans gathered in a frenzy on social media to digest the news and what their reuniting could possibly mean, Eric B. & Rakim later revealed that they will be hitting the road together again.

As reported by Complex, the last time these two shared the stage was about six years ago, while performing at an induction gala hosted by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. That performance was their first time coming together publicly in roughly 16 years.

Their 1986 debut, Paid in Full, changed the hip-hop game forever, with many crafting lengthy arguments as to why the duo are among the most influential DJ-rapper duos of all time.

In a series of posts, the duo first offers Eric B. as a potential president candidate (a play on one of their classic records, but also someone that many would seriously consider giving their vote to this year) and then posts a poll asking fans which city their tour should begin.

Looks like these two really mean business this time.

Take a look at Eric B. & Rakim's announcement in the posts below.
