Keyshia Cole Comes To Tyrese’s Defense Amid Emotional Breakdown: 'This Could Be Me'

The "11:11 Reset" singer offers her sympathy to the fellow R&B crooner.

Over the past week, Tyrese has been using social media as an outlet to voice his pleas in the midst of his ongoing custody battle with estranged wife Norma Gibson.

While the state of Tyrese's emotional well-being seems to have gotten progressively worse, that hasn't spared the R&B crooner from becoming the butt of many jokes ― even spawning a viral meme

However, after a series of seemingly erratic posts which included Tyrese taking more shots at his Fast & Furious co-star Dwayne Johnson and declaring himself broke, it appears as though the actor has at least one friend in his corner: Keyshia Cole. Over the weekend, the singer offered an encouraging perspective on why she feels Tyrese deserves a bit of sympathy.

On Friday (Nov. 3), the 11:11 Reset songstress took to Instagram to voice her opinions on Tyrese's emotional ordeal after sharing a screenshot of a tweet blasting the internet for “clowning” him while championing the importance of black men’s mental health. “I hope [you] guys don’t dislike me for this,” the singer wrote in a since-deleted post. “And trust me [I’m] not saying anyone’s perfect. It just hurts me to think, this could be me, or you.”

As the “Incapable” singer explained, given that she recently met her father, she sympathizes with Tyrese and other parents “fighting for that piece of your heart that may be missing because of the legal system.”

“I just met my father after 35 years so please excuse my interest in this situation,” she continued. “I just [know] how it feels, to feel like a piece of you is missing.”

Since his public meltdown, Tyrese has gone on to garner the support of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, who allegedly gifted the Oakland native with $5 million to pay off his impending legal fees.
