Beyoncé Wins a Major Award for her 'Formation' Music Video

Queen Bey received the Cannes Lions' most prestigious honor.

She slays!

Beyoncé's Lemonade era is shaping up to be one of her most noteworthy yet as the megastar just received another major award for her talents.

According to Billboard, Queen Bey can now add the Cannes Lions' most prestigious honor to her overflowing collection of awards as the first offering — not single — from Lemonade, "Formation," took home one of two Grand Prix Lion Awards at the inaugural Cannes Loins Entertainment for Music.

The pro-Black anthem was the front runner in the majorly competitive Excellence in Music Video category. 13 videos were shortlisted with eight being awarded at the event on Friday, June 24.

This award seems to now be a Carter family staple as, in 2011, Bey's hubby, Jay Z, took home two awards — for the Integrated and Outdoor Lions for Droga5 and Bing's Decoded campaign.

Grey Group's EVP-director of music Josh Rabinowitz, jury president of Lions Entertainment for Music, said it was Beyoncé's re-positioning of her personal brand that made the clip so immensely powerful, without the need for corporate branding.

"[You have] the biggest artist on the planet taking serious risks," he said in a press conference. "This is a mainstream pop artist pushing the limits on the way we perceive things of race in culture, and the perception of women in culture."

Well done, Bey!
