Okay, Rozay: Rick Ross Explains Why He Thinks Hip Hop ‘Respects Women’ And Hollywood Does Not

Try not to roll your eyes.

While Hollywood has seen several of its leading men, most notably Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, fall from grace due to recent allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, MMG founder Rick Ross has no worries of similar troubles affecting the hip hop community.

During a recent interview with MadeMen.com, Rozay proclaimed, “I’m gonna be honest. I don’t believe that,” when asked if about the potential of a “day of reckoning” would ever come for the hip hop industry.

Rick Ross went on to highlight what he believes is the huge difference between the disgraced execs in Hollywood and the gatekeepers of hip hop. “Well, you know, rule number one is we got to respect our women. And the way they’re moving [in film], that’s not even our style.”

Going further, Ross added, “For one, you respect the women. If you invited a woman over, and if she’s not your personal friend or your personal loved one, if it’s business, it’s business. Respect her as a business partner. If she’s an actress on a film set, then it’s just like she’s coming to your studio. You respect her as a business woman.

Things took an awkward turn when Ross was asked whether or not recent comments explaining his decision not to sign a female artist and whether or not comments like those could lead to similar allegations being made against him in the future. “That ain’t why I’m answering your question. I’m answering your question talking about the people that have those situations. I move differently, I’m not about to do all that movie s**t,” he concluded.
