Report: Drake Dropping New Mixtape Soon

Toronto Raptors player DeMar DeRozan shares music news.

Could Drake be dropping a new mixtape next year, before he delivers Views From the 6? Yes, according to Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan.

The 25-year-old Compton native appeared on NBA TV’s Fan Night, and basically announced Drizzy’s new project, when asked how it feels to have the rapper as global ambassador of the team. “It’s incredible having that type of artist of his magnitude be able to support us the way he [does], coming out for games whenever he’s not busy doing his music thing,” DeRozan said. “It’s definitely amazing ‘cuz he definitely really [does] support us, it’s just not for show. ... I talked to him the other night, actually he said he wants to give me his mixtape that comes out in January.”

After dropping that bomb, DeRozan went right back to speaking highly of Drake, apparently not realizing that he just shared some huge music news. “It’s definitely amazing, because he definitely supports us at a high level, especially with him being from Toronto,” he pointed out. “It’s definitely a cool thing.”

Drake's new mixtape would be his first since 2009’s So Far Gone, which spawned the double-platinum single “Best I Ever Had.”
