Here's Why Meek Mill Is Reportedly Being Held In Solitary Confinement

Sources claim his legal team has filed official documents against this decision as well.

After a two- to four-year sentence handed down from a currently-investigated Philadelphia judge, Meek Mill’s legal woes took another downward spiral after being placed in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day, seven days a week, as TMZ details.

But according to prison officials, the arrangement isn’t because of anything Meek has done wrong but rather their concern with his presence among the rest of the inmates.

TMZ reports that the prison claims the solitary confinement will protect Meek, but his lawyers have filed official documents against the decision anyway. Arguing the psychological damage that solitary confinement imposes on inmates, his defense team is specifically worried about the hindrance it will have on Meek’s personal creativity as well.

The site adds that Meek himself also wants out of the isolated placement considering that he’s made a respected name for himself among Philly, so he has no worries about clashing with other inmates while in general population. The huge turnout of the Philadelphia protests against his sentencing and for his freedom is significant proof of that, too.

There’s no word on whether the judge will concede to his attorney’s motion to have him removed from solitary just yet. In the meantime, let’s hope things look up for him sooner than later amid the legal tension.
