Actually, Lloyd Banks Isn't Retiring From Music

On Friday, the former G-Unit rapper said he was hanging up the mic.

Lloyd Banks said he was retiring from rap on Twitter yesterday (March 16), but apparently, that was all for… show?

The former G-Unit emcee took to the social media platform to say he was done rapping.

“I fell in love with Hip Hop over 25 years ago..it was that thing I turned to during good times and bad..just wanna say thank you to the artist B4 me that inspired me..and send my appreciation to everyone that supported me till this day THANK YOU!!” he wrote.

“With that being said..I think it’s time to lay it down,” he continued then followed up with a 100 emoji and a Ric Flair video in his next tweet.

Well, that was very short-lived. Just hours later, Banks said that he’s actually not retiring and attempted to get the media in an apparent gotcha moment.

“Just goes to show you what a mess the industry has become..they’ll rather cover everything that happens around the music..than the actual music itself..I hope all these outlets support me when I drop..have a good day,” he wrote.

The last album release for Lloyd Banks was 2010’s The Hunger For More 2. Since then, he’s released several mixtapes.

We’re glad Lloyd isn’t retiring, but come on. Don’t hit us with the pump fake like that.
