FYI: Chris Brown Earned 40 Platinum Plaques This Year

It's been one helluva year for Breezy.

Say what you want about Chris Brown’s personal life, but what you can’t deny is that he is a true talent among a bunch of fakes. A lot of fans clowned Breezy this year after he dropped his 45-track album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon. But what people should know is that it was a pretty epic year for the R&B singer. In fact, he reportedly earned 40 platinum plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2017 alone.

The “Party” singer announced the news on Twitter on Dec. 6. “40 PLAQUES THIS YEAR,” he tweeted. “Today the RIAA released 23 more certified platinum and gold plaques that included 12 x multi platinum singles. 74.5 million single and album sales just in the US. #TEAMBREEZY.”

Not only was the singer awarded plaques for singles off his newest album, including “Privacy” and “Grass Ain’t Greener,” but he also received rewards for singles that came out at the start of his career. According to reports, his first and second singles, “Run It!” and “Yo (Excuse Me Miss),” as well as “Forever” and “With You” all became certified platinum this year.

Heartbreak on a Full Moon also received high marks from the RIAA. The album reportedly went gold following its release and also debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 charts.

This was undoubtedly a great year for the crooner, but it doesn’t look like he’s done yet. Following his album release, Brown has already dropped more singles, including the Michael Jackson-inspired record, “Sirens.” So, if he keeps this up, next year may be just as great.
