So, Lil B Just Offered A Questionable Take On Sexual Assault

"Many men like myself live in constant anxiety about potential sexual assault."

The #MeToo movement is slowly creeping its way into the music industry, with sexual assault and rape allegations being brought against a number of artists and executives in the game. In an attempt to bring solutions and awareness to both women and men so that these same incidents won’t happen again, Lil B offered some advice along with personal accounts on Twitter Thursday morning. Despite his good intentions, though, his words comments didn’t exactly help the situation.

At first, Lil B simply addressed women and men about engaging in consensual relationships. “Guys and girls make sure to be very clear,” tweeted. “Be very clear if you do not want to have sex or you feel pressured. Say, ‘I do not want to have sex, and I feel you are pressuring me to have sex.’ Please speak up and say these things to protect yourself and others.”

While he may have started off strong, his Twitter gospel took a weird turn when he described his own fears of being sexually assaulted by women. “Women you are not alone. Many men like myself live in constant anxiety about potential sexual assault,” he continued. “I feel I’m sexy and hot as a man and if I wear certain clothes to show off my body people may harass me especially if I have headphones on... I love you. We are together.”

And it didn’t stop there. After a number of people criticized B for his comments, he responded, “It’s sad to see some of the small responses. I have been getting after telling my truths for identifying as a human being/man in fear of sexual assault people are brushing me off like it doesn’t happen to men or my story is not important. My story matters too.”

Finally, he concluded his tweets by suggesting that any victim should alert the police of their assault. “Also as a victim of any type of assault or crime, sexual violent or non-violent,” he stated, “You have a choice as a human and American to go to the police for further action.. after I got jumped I told police hell na im not pressing charges on none of them dudes I forgive them all.”
