John Legend On Roseanne Barr: 'Roseanne's A Racist Idiot'

He held back nothing.

Small screen actress Roseanne Barr’s bad week, beginning on Tuesday (May 29) and ignited by a string of racist tweets, keeps getting worse and worse, and Hollywood is not silent about it.

ABC swiftly scrapped what was supposed to be a renewal of the ‘80s sitcom from the network in a first response move to her violation. And after TMZ caught up with R&B-soul singer John Legend for his thoughts on the matter, it appears ABC isn’t the only hitting cancel on the 65-year-old Utah native.

The Darkness and Light artist shared his opinion with TMZ while leaving Il Pastaio on Wednesday (May 30), as reported by the site, with his wife Chrissy Teigen and daughter Luna in tow. Paparazzi and reporters rushed to the family as they exited the restaurant and made their way to their vehicle, catching them up in a flurry of questions.

One got through, though, when a reporter asked, “Is Roseanne an idiot for saying what she said?” John definitely agreed with that sentiment—plus one.

“Roseanne’s a racist idiot,” he said before slipping away into the driver’s side of the Range Rover.

The paps and reporters cheered him on for the answer that he likely shares with a significant portion of other prominent Hollywood names by now, including Whoopi Goldeberg. In desperate, last-minute damage control attempts, Roseanne is also attempting to point the finger at First Lady Michelle Obama (after previously blaming her racist rant on the prescription medication Ambien) for her show’s cancellation, so expect a few political names to get involved next.

Yikes.
