Rachel Dolezal's Latest Identity: 'I'm Bisexual'

The race faker is now a member of the LGBT community.

After claiming to be "transracial" shortly after her highly publicized "Black disguise" scandal went viral, Rachel Dolezal is now revealing that she is bisexual. According to People, the former NAACP leader said that Caitlyn Jenner's tell-all in Vanity Fair motivated her to open up.

"Just yesterday I finally had a chance to read Caitlyn Jenner's piece in the magazine," she told Savannah Guthrie of NBC Nightly News. "I cried... I'm bisexual. And so, you know, I've dated men and women." Delving further into her experiences in dating as an LGBT-identifying woman, she said, "I will intentionally ask, like, 'So do you just date light-skinned women? What's your spectrum?'"

The now infamous race faker was outed by her parents, last week, for posing as an African-American woman for over a decade. After receiving an onslought of backlash, she resigned from her position as president of the NAACP's Spokane, Washington, chapter.

"I resonated with some of the themes of isolation, of being misunderstood — to not know if you have a conversation with somebody, will that relationship then end because they have seen you as one way?," she said while recalling Jenner's story.

Since the birth of the scandal, Dolezal and commenters alike have dubbed her "transracial," and have gone on to compare her to the former Olympian, who recently transitioned from male to famale. However, according to Derald Wing Sue, a racial identity expert and psychology and education professor at Columbia University, being "transracial" and being transgender are completely different.

"Most people who are transgender, [when they are] as early as four or five, believe already that at some level that they are a child born with the wrong anatomy. I don't see this [with Dolezal]," Sue said. "I think [the comparison] is all an attempt to not really see the issue. The issue is deception, honesty and pretense. You have to get to the bottom of that."
