Casting News: Projects for Chadwick Boseman, Jamie Foxx

Plus, Antoine Fuqua re-teams with Southpaw star Jake Gyllenhaal.

Chadwick Boseman is proving to be one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. Days after he was named Marvel's first Black superhero, the Get on Up star has booked yet another high-profile role. Boseman will play the lead in the thriller Message From the King, which follows a South African man who arrives in Los Angeles looking for his missing younger sister. Boseman will also produce the film.
Jamie Foxx is getting edgy with his next role, signing on for Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine's latest project The Trap. Foxx will star alongside Benicio del Toro in the crime thriller, about two childhood friends now in their mid-to-late 30s — one of whom is very successful and the other having spent the majority of his adult life in jail. On the eve of a big recognition for the successful man, the other is released from jail and determined to get even.
Foxx is gearing up for a busy holiday season, with starring roles in Horrible Bosses 2, opening November 26, and Annie, out December 19.
Lastly, Antoine Fuqua is proving to be a favorite director for A-list actors. The Equalizer helmer is re-teaming with his Southpaw star Jake Gyllenhaal for The Man Who Made It Snow, a biopic on notorious 1980s cocaine smuggler Max Mermelstein who, at the time, was the only American let into the inner circle of the Colombian cocaine cartel.
Fuqua will also soon reunite with his Training Day and The Equalizer star Denzel Washington for a remake of The Magnificent Seven.
