Christina Milian's Daughter Wearing a 'Weave' Did Not Go Over Well on Instagram

The singer quickly responded to the haters.

One of the most popular hair trends of the moment is box braids. We've seen them on several of our fav celeb ladies from Tia Mowry to Gabrielle Union, but what about kids? Singer Christina Milian recently let her 5-year-old daughter Violet get waist-length purple braids, and social media isn't here for it, taking it as far as attacking her parenting skills.

The "Dip It Low" singer posted the following snap on IG of Violet rocking her purple braids, accessorized with a white flower, while posing with Zendaya. After the snap made the rounds, though, Twitter immediately went in on her, labeling her a "bad mother" for letting the toddler wear a "weave."

Some of the comments from her followers hit below the belt with some reading, "Ur officially the worst mom ever," "Why would you do that to ur daughter," and "Christina you dead wrong mama."

The reality star set the record straight before things got too heated, letting the rude commenters know that Violet's braids are not a weave and are very lightweight and not damaging to her natural hair.

"For those of you more concerned with Violet's hair (understandably 'cause you just don't know) her hair isn't in the twists, it's another method used where they are tired into her corn rows," she said. "The hair isn't heavy. If you've ever grabbed a bag of afri braiding hair you know they are very light weight. But just trying new things. Violet likes it and it's not damaging. Xo."

There you have it. End of story.
