Halle Berry’s Statement On Her Former Manager’s Sexual Misconduct Allegations Deserves A Round Of Applause
It has become somewhat of a trend in Hollywood to either turn a blind eye to sexual assault allegations made against powerful members of that community or try to invalidate those who speak out about being violated.
However, Halle Berry showed that she's not a part of that select group as she candidly spoke out in supprt of the various women who have accused her former manager, Vincent Cirrincione, of sexual harassment.
According to the Washington Post, nine women, most of them being aspiring actresses, have come forward accusing Cirrincione of sexual misconduct. They all claimed he pressured them for sexual favors in exchange for mobility in the business.
Taking to Instagram, the Oscar-winning actress expressed her outrage at him using her to lure in young actresses, firmly declaring that she stands with the women who accused her former manager of this crime.
"Yesterday I was saddened by the allegations against my former manager, Vincent Cirrincione, but today I'm sick after reading the horrifying detailed accounts of his abuse toward 9 women," she wrote. "I'm livid that he used me, and the role model he helped me become to lure and manipulate innocent, vulnerable women of color for his predatory actions."
Directly addressing his accusers, she added, "I'm deeply hurt and I want these women and countless others to know I see you. I hear you. You matter. I will fight for you."
