D.L. Hughley Compares a Former NYC Mayor to Kim Kardashian

The comic slams racist comments.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani recently made some comments where he directly addressed the Black community, telling its members how to behave in the company of the police. Comedian and political commentator D.L. Hughley, like many other Black folks, wasn't here for his unsolicited advice and had some words of his own on his offensive opinion.

In an interview with CBS, Giuliani called the Black Lives Matter movement "inherently racist" and even touched on parenting, saying what he would do if he was a Black parent.

"If I were a Black father and I was concerned with the safety of my child, really concerned about it and not in a politically activist sense, I would say, 'Be very respectful of the police,'" he said.

Hughley, seeing just how ridiculous Giuliani's remarks were, then made an interestingly fitting comparison to show how ironic his comments were.

"Taking parenting advice from Rudy Giuliani is like Kim Kardashian giving me marriage advice," he said during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on New Day. "It's ridiculous... He was a brutal bear who basically had a reign of terror over Black people in this country and this city."

He continued to share his opinion on Giuliani's remarks, commenting on how offensive it is for an old white man to tell Black men how to behave.

"When old white men tell Black men how to act, that's the most ridiculous thing in the world," he said. "To tell Black people to speak a certain way and act a certain way is no different than telling a woman how to dress so she doesn't get raped."
