Giuliana Rancic - Known for harshly judging the fashions of the red carpet's hottest celebrities, Giuliana Rancic's remarks are usually taken as snarky fun. However, the E! correspondent crossed the line when she commented on young star Zendaya's locs during an Oscars special of Fashion Police, saying, "I feel like she smells like patchouli oil...and weed." After receiving a huge amount of backlash from the public and celebrities alike, Rancic issued an apology to Zendaya, which the 18-year-old graciously accepted.(Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images)

Don Lemon - This CNN anchor covered the biggest stories of the year — but we hope Lemon made a resolution to choose his words more wisely. Among his most egregious gaffes of the past twelve months: asking guests whether Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 could have been swallowed by a black hole and lecturing a woman who accused Bill Cosby of rape by saying, “You know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it…Meaning the use of teeth, right?” Less than a week later, as protests turned violent in Ferguson after the grand jury decision not to indict the police officer who killed Michael Brown, he described the scene as such: “Obviously, there’s a smell of marijuana in the air.” (Photo: Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images)

Naya Rivera - The Glee star evoked the wrath of Black Twitter — and a lot of raised eyebrows — when, during a guest-hosting stint on The View , she said that showering daily is a "white people thing." Even co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie Perez had to distance themselves from that strange statement.(Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images for De Re Gallery)

Kristi Capel - The Fox 8 Cleveland morning anchor caused a stir the day after the Oscars when she referred to Lady Gaga's hits as "jigaboo music." To make matters worse, she invoked the racial slur in front her her Black co-anchor. Capel issued an apology, saying she didn't know what the word meant.    (Photo: Carley Margolis/FilmMagic)

Sherri Shepherd - The former View host is beloved by millions, but even Sherri had her moments. From pondering if the world is flat to declaring that nothing predates Jesus to saying "homosexuals" are going to hell (although she claimed her words were taken out of context) to saying Barbara Walters needs to find Jesus (Walters is Jewish), Shepherd made the world cringe a few times. Sheryl Underwood - In 2013, the comedienne came under fire for comments she made on The Talk about Heidi Klum's decision to save her sons' hair after she shaved their afros. "Okay, I'm sorry, but why would you save afro hair?" Underwood asked. “That just seems nasty.” When co-host Sara Gilbert admitted to keeping some of her own son's hair, Underwood interjected saying, "Which is probably some beautiful, long, silky stuff." After Twitter exploded in anger, Underwood asked for forgiveness for her insensitive comments. (Photo: Angela Weiss/Getty Images)

Kelly Osbourne - Fashion Police panelist Kelly Osbourne came under fire when she used a transgender slur. After finding out that her former boyfriend Luke Worrall had an affair with a transgender woman, Osbourne said, "Having to tell them my fiancé had cheated on me with a tranny who sold his/her story to the press [was the most uncomfortable moment]." She apologized for her insensitive words.(Photo: Jonathan Leibson/[SOURCE CREDIT for ROCA PATRON TEQUILA)

Melissa Harris-Perry - Given that the MSNBC host frequently explored racial injustice on her show, it was surprising that she decided to make fun of Mitt Romney's Black grandchild with a "one of these is not like the others" comment. Realizing she and her panelists crossed the line into bad taste, Harris-Perry offered a tearful on-air apology. (Photo: Shahar Azran/WireImage)

Stephen A. Smith - The ESPN host caused major offense when, while covering the Ray Rice domestic abuse controversy, he seemed to imply that women should consider the part they play in provoking violence from men. After provoking a social media backlash of his own, Smith offered an apology and called the comment the "most egregious error of my career."   (Photo: Brad Barket/Getty Images)
