Common officially has a new lady in his life, but he's doing things a bit differently this time around. According to The Daily Mail, the rapper is going the interracial route and is seriously dating actress Laura Dern, to the dismay of some of his fans.

The publication reports that Common, 43, and the Jurassic Park star have been getting to know one another for a while, with the 48-year-old actress reportedly already introducing him to her two children. A friend of hers reportedly said that they are "having fun and seeing where things go."

Common's fans, however, aren't enjoying the new romance too much, with some wondering why he is dating the Caucasian actress after the likes of Serena Williams and Erykah Badu, both Black women. Check out some of the tweets below:

A source told US Weekly that Dern "has a thing for musicians" and is happily pursuing romance following her split from her ex-husband, blues singer Ben Harper, three years ago.
