Nick Cannon's divorce from Mariah Carey was surprisingly amicable, but that doesn't mean it didn't leave some scars. While Mimi has moved on to a new beau — billionaire businessman James Packer — Cannon is single and plans to stay that way. In fact, he said that after being married to Mariah, he doubts he'll ever do it again.
"I feel like marriage isn't for everyone," the Chi-Raq star tells DuJour. "A friend of mine put it the funniest way. He said, 'If you heard that there was a 50/50 chance of living or dying when you jump out of a plane, you probably wouldn't go skydiving. There's like a 50/50 chance of a marriage working. If it didn't work out for you the first time, and you still survived it, you probably shouldn't do it again."
Just in case that message wasn't clear enough, when asked point blank if he'll ever marry again, Cannon answered unequivocally, "I highly doubt it." Sorry, ladies!
And if you're still dreaming about getting wife'd up by the charming Real Husbands of Hollywood star, here's another stop sign for you: Nick has trust issues. "I've rarely let people that close to me. A lot of it comes with me having trust issues," he says. "I've been that way since grade school. I don't trust many people. Who knows where I'll be when I'm 60. At 35, I'm not even looking to be in a relationship."
