Watch the Cast of 'Almost Christmas' Drag Donald Trump to Hell
Last night's shocking upset in the presidential election still has us reeling. But despite his victory at the polls, Black America sees Donald Trump for what he is: a racist bigot who doesn't represent half this country.
In an exclusive interview for BET, conducted before the election, cast members from the upcoming holiday film Almost Christmas sounded off on the then-Republican presidential candidate for making the blanket generalization that African-Americans are "living in hell." The cast didn't hold back from letting The Donald have it.
"We can't afford to be apathetic," said director David E. Talbert during the interview, suggesting that Trump supporters want "Black people to sit out" on Election Day. Sadly, his words and those of so many other Black leaders didn't reach quite far enough — Black voter turnout was much lower than expected, especially in critical states where our voice could have made all the difference.
"He's so incorrect that Donald Trump," said singer-turned actress Keri Hilson.
"It's wrong -- it's up there with the Easter bunny," adds Gabrielle Union. "I don't even know how to respond to it...[Trump's] followers will believe what they want to."
Sadly, we have to content with him for at least the next four years. But it's almost Christmas, and this movie might be the perfect thing to distract us from our misery.
Almost Christmas hits theaters this Friday, November 11.
