Meadow Walker Fires Back at Porsche for Blaming Car Crash on Her Dad

Luxury automaker says Paul Walker "assumed all risk" riding in car.

Porsche is taking a harsh stance in the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Paul Walker's teenage daughter Meadow Walker. The company maintains that it is not to blame for the deadly accident, and in a recent statement, even went so far as to say that the actor got what he deserved for getting into the car in the first place.
In new court documents, Porsche alleges that Paul "knowingly and voluntarily assumed all risk, perils and danger in respect to the use of the subject 2005 Carrera GT." The company goes on to state that the "risk and dangers were open and obvious and known to him and that he chose to conduct himself in a manner so as to expose himself to such perils, dangers and risks, thus assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle."
Porsche also believes that Meadow doesn't deserve any compensation because her dad "was a knowledgeable and sophisticated user of the car."
The teenager's rep fired back at the callous statement on Monday, telling TMZ, "It is beyond regrettable that Porsche is trying to deflect its own responsibility by blaming the victim — Paul Walker — for his own death by getting into the passenger seat of its Carrera GT. Contrary to Porsche's assertions, the facts are clear: Paul was the passenger in a car that was not designed to protect its occupants, in a crash on a dry, empty straightaway in broad daylight and at speeds well below the vehicle's advertised capabilities."

The rep adds, "If Porsche had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have survived, he would be filming Fast and Furious 8 and Meadow Walker would have the father she adored."

Meadow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche this past September, claiming the vehicle her father was in at the time of his deadly crash (Walker's pal Roger Rodas was driving) was faulty.

"We are saddened whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly established that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed," the company said in a statement at the time.
