Racism? Find Out How Airport Ticketing Agents Treated Danielle Brooks for Being in First Class

The 'Orange Is the New Black' star felt insulted.

Danielle Brooks has become the bona fide breakout star of the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black, but despite her rise to fame on and off the screen, the actress seems to be getting a hard time, most recently by airport workers.

The Tony-nominated actress recently revealed that she was insulted by ticketing agents who seemed shocked she was flying first class — and apparently it was not a one-time occurrence:

Her fans backed her up, agreeing that the agents were out of line in their approach, with some even giving her suggestions on how she should respond the next time it should happen. The general consensus among her fans, however, remained the fact that the ticketing agents were "surprised" she flew first class because of the color of her skin.

"The expectation that Black women are broke is pervasive," one follower wrote. "I have perfected the dead eyed 'You're not worth my time' face."

Other fans suggested she use her fame to her advantage by asking, "Don't you know who I am?"

Knowing how humble the actress is, we don't think she will be taking that approach any time soon.

Watch the actress speak on her start in acting in the 106 & Park Guest Review clip above.
