Exclusive: Zendaya on What Spider-Man Might Think of Black Lives Matter

The actress stars in the upcoming new superhero flick.

Zendaya is gearing up for the nationwide release of her new film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, where she plays the teen superhero's awkward high school friend Michelle.

While talking exclusively with BET.com about the film, the young starlet touched on just how she thought the superhero would feel about the Black Lives Matters movement of today.

"Personally, I think he'd be down," she said, without any hesitation. "Of course, because, you know, he always tries to do the right thing and fights for that, so, of course. I think he'd be down for the cause."

Also, the Hollywood "it girl" also dished on the massively diverse cast and why she thinks it should not come as a shock to anyone that the actors in such a major film aren't whitewashed.

"It's actually a diverse cast and I think it's a beautiful representation," she said. "It's sad that it's such a shock because this is how it should be. This is a representation of what New York is like. If you walked in the streets or been in a school in New York, it's full of beautiful, different colors and I think that should be represented."

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on Friday, July 7, nationwide.
