Fox-Hole: Network in a Bind Over Terrence Howard's Empire Earnings

Do they pay the actor or his ex-wife?

It seems as the top dogs over at Empire and Fox are in a bind as they don't know exactly how to pay the show's leading man, Terrence Howardsince his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent, is seeking to garnish his paycheck. Due to the sensitive legal situation, they've asked a judge for help on how to move forward.

According to TMZ, the actor is being paid very well for the breakout show, but, according to his divorce settlement agreement with Ghent, she is entitled to a hefty share of his Empire earnings.

Both parties are asking for their expected cut with Ghent directly demanding that Fox take out her share from her ex-hubby's check and send it to her. Howard isn't having it, though, also demanding that he receive the full amount he's earned since he believes the settlement agreement is invalid.

The real mess comes in the decision. If the network makes the wrong one, the party that will suffer most will be, well, them, as they're the ones who have to shell out the payments. To prevent this, Fox is putting the matter into the hands of the courts, asking a judge to lay down the law. Once everything is clarified, the right person will get his or her money, and this will, hopefully, be a done deal.
