Whoopi Goldberg: Bill Cosby 'Has Not Been Proven a Rapist'

The Oscar winner is refusing to judge the television icon.

Whoopi Goldberg was one of the first public figures to stand by Bill Cosby and she is not leaving his side just yet.
This morning on The View, the ladies debated the recent revelations that Cosby admitted to drugging women in 2005. Kicking off the spirited panel discussion, new co-host and the TV dad's former castmate Raven-Symoné said, "You need the proof." Resident Republican Nicole Phillips quickly responded with, "We know that he gave quaaludes to women to have sex. We know that now."

Candace Cameron Bure, who served as the morning's guest host, was fully anti-Cosby: "If you are giving drugs to anyone to have sex you are impairing their judgment. They don't even have the ability to make a coherent decision if they want to have sex with you. To me, it just says guilty, guilty, guilty!"

While her fellow co-hosts were either on the fence or against Cosby, Whoopi Goldberg continued to defend her friend. "We'll see what happens. As more information comes out, people can make judgments. I don't like snap judgments because I've had snap judgments made on me." She continued, "In America, I know this is a shock, but you actually are innocent until proven guilty. He has not been proven a rapist."

Michelle Collins, who has been a recurring guest host for a while, quizzed Whoopi, "What do you think the motivation is for 40 women to come forth and accuse him of the same thing?" Whoopi shot back, "What was the motivation for an entire party to decide that I was a rotten person?" Michelle stressed that was different, but Goldberg continued, "When somebody ruins your reputation, it's the same thing. And nobody asked me if it was true, they just said it!" No word on exactly what Whoopi is referring to, but she has never been accused of rape.

Always one for a joke, Collins then cracked, "If you have any allergies and you happen to see Bill Cosby, ask him for a Benadryl, this is what we're learning — because the guy is packing!"

Despite the recently resurfacing news of Cosby's confession, some, like Goldberg, are still unfazed and continue to support him. Prepare for Twitter to attack!
