Hero for Hire #1 (1972)  - Luke Cage made his debut in 1972 comic Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #1. This is where the world was introduced to his signature initial look of a yellow shirt and boots, a chain belt and a high top fade completed with an inverted silver crown.(Photo: Marvel Comics)
Luke Cage, Power Man #17 (1974) - A couple years later, the series was renamed Luke Cage, Power Man from issue #17 onwards. From this point on, the sales of the comic book started to rise exponentially.(Photo Marvel Comics)Introducing Iron Fist (1978) - In a little time, despite the success, the series' popularity began to fade. To save it, another superhero was added to attract customers: the martial arts hero Iron Fist, who joined the cast of Power Man in a three-part story art in #48-50.
