Wendy Williams Reportedly Took a Major L After Those Anti-HBCU Comments

The talk show host may be eating her words.

Wendy Williams became a hot topic last week after making some offensive comments, denouncing the need for HBCUs and the NAACP. Now, it seems as the talk show maven's words cost her big time as a major sponsor for her show has reportedly backed out, with the faciliatator of the deal being an HBCU alumna.

Love B. Scott exclusively reports that The Wendy Williams Show lost its Chevrolet sponsorship as a result of Wendy's comments.

The talk show struck an all-inclusive deal with the company in April 2015 to include on-air promotion of the 2016 Chevy Malibu. The activation for the deal included custom digital content and social media marketing set to continue throughout the rest of 2016.

However, that all reportedly came to a screeching halt as Chevrolet has allegedly backed out after learning of Wendy's anti-HBCU comments. While the reason has not been 100 percent confirmed just yet, it is reported that Andrea Holmes Thompkins, President and CEO of ACE Media Corp — the company solely responsible for orchestrating the Chevrolet partnership — is an alum of Howard University, an HBCU.

Wendy has reportedly been "sobbing all week" over the news, but allegedly refuses to apologize for her words.

Recap another moment when the talk show host got dragged by social media in the BET Breaks video, above.
