Sherri Shepherd, Pras Each Face Court Custody Rulings

View host is victorious over ex, Fugees alum in default on child support.

It's been a busy week in family court. Both Sherri Shepherd and former Fugees member Pras Michel faced judges over their respective custody battles this week.
The departing host of The View was victorious over the father of her 9-year-old son, Jeffrey Jr., People.com reports. Shepherd's first husband, Jeffrey Tarpley, filed a petition recently to gain full custody of his son with the television personality. Tarpley claimed that Jeffrey Jr. can barely read and write and doesn't know how to tie his shoes.
A judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court, where the former couple appeared for a hearing on Wednesday, ruled in favor of Shepherd, saying, "There has not been a material change in circumstances" in Jeffrey Jr.'s well being.
This is a bit of much-needed good news for Shepherd, who has been facing a two-front war with both her exes. Besides the custody battle with Tarpley, Shepherd's most recent estranged husband, Lamar Sally, is suing her to acknowledge maternity of their unborn child (via surrogate). Shepherd filed documents to deny parentage of the baby, claiming it was concieved without her egg and is being used as a ploy by Sally to milk her for child and spousal support.
Meanwhile, Pras was reprimanded by a judge for being "in default" of his obligations after the former Fugees member failed to show up for a scheduled court date to determine custody and child support arrangements for his 3-year-old son, Landon. Pras's ex, Angela Severino, is seeking $7,000 per month in child support so she can upgrade herself and Landon from their 250-square-foot apartment, the New York Post's Page Six reports.
The judge is likely to rule in her favor considering the reason Pras missed his court date: he was allegedly flying via private jet to Brazil for the World Cup.
