It's been nearly two decades since their divorce, but despite the time difference, John Singleton's ex-wife, Akousia Busia, is gunning for his pockets, saying she deserves more money.

According to Bossip, Busia says she deserves more of the profits her ex-husband made during the course of their very brief marriage, particularly what he earned from both writing and directing the remake of Shaft.

In order to make this happen, she filed documents in L.A. County Superior Court asking that a judge force the director to show exactly how much he made during the course of their marriage.

Busia, who is known for playing the role of "Nettie" in the 1984 film A Color Purple, says she has some personal insight into just how much he made from the film as she still has some of his paperwork. The documents she has show that he made a $2.5 million-plus deal to direct Shaft. The film went on to gross $70 million at the box office.

She said he also earned $400,000 for his first draft of the Samuel L. Jackson film, and $120,000 for working on Gold Diggers, in addition to his $1 million deal with Paramount Pictures.

Busia claimed that though the films Shaft, Woo and Rosewood were released after their divorce, he got paid for his work on each project while they were together, leaving her entitled to some of the earnings.

The actress, who also just starred alongside Lupita Nyong'o in the Broadway play Eclipsed, said even though their final divorce settlement required that Singleton tell her how much he earned while they were together, he refused to do so.

During their marriage, which lasted less than a year, the couple had a daughter, Hadar, together. She's now 19.
