[Graphic Photo] Up-and-Coming Actress Brutally Assaulted at NYC Club
La Rivers, an up-and-coming actress, is suing NYC hotspot Beautique after claiming the manager of the club got drunk and attacked her after a night out. The incident, according to Rivers, went down at the end of the night, when they were fighting over a cab. She says the manager, Edward Moffett, slammed her to the ground and broke her nose and left her bloodied and unconscious.
WARNING: the photo below of La Rivers after the attack is so graphic, it looks straight out of a movie.
“I was assaulted, knocked unconscious and bloodied,” a teary-eyed La Rivers said at a press conference outside Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday. “Worse than that, I had my sense of safety and security taken away from me.”
According to records, this isn't Moffett's first time facing charges for assault. In 2010, he pleaded guilty to another attempted assault charge, and in 2011, he admitted to an aggravated harassment charge, Rivers’ suit says.
“She was completely sober when she arrived and left Beautique,” Rivers' attorney Gloria Allred said. “Without any warning, Mr. Moffett attacked Ms. Rivers." He hit her “with such force that she fell to the ground head first,” according to the lawsuit. She awoke with “blood streaming out of her nose, a black eye forming, and an enormous contusion on her forehead."
