Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is the most diverse movie in the franchise's history — but not everyone sees that as a good thing. #BoycottStarWarsVII became a trending Twitter topic on Monday when a small but vocal faction declared the film, which stars John Boyega, Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar Isaac and others, “anti-white.” 
“#BoycottStarWarsVII because it is anti-white propaganda promoting #whitegenocide,” one user tweeted, adding, “White children deserve wholesome movies, not more PC anti-white diversity crap.” Another agreed, tweeting, “It’s nothing more than a social justice propaganda piece that alienates it’s core audience of young white males.” 
Thankfully, good sense prevails, even on social media. The group that started the boycott was quickly drowned out by thousands who called them on their bulls**t. “If #BoycottStarWarsVII results in cinemas being free of racists, all the better,” read one tweet, while another said, “I support #BoycottStarWarsVII. If you want to stay home because the leads are black and female, I want you to stay home, too.” 
Tickets for The Force Awakens officially go on sale tonight following the debut of the new trailer during Monday Night Football.
