Two More Bill Cosby Tour Dates Canceled
Two upcoming gigs for Bill Cosby are now gone in wake of the recent sexual assault allegations. Treasure Island Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the Virginia Theater in Champaign, Illinois, have canceled appearances by the television icon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cosby's November 28 show at Treasure Island has been indefinitely postponed. Michelle Knoll, Senior Vice President of Communications at the Vegas hotel, said in a statement, "By mutual agreement, Mr. Cosby's show next Friday at Treasure Island is canceled. All tickets will be refunded through the outlet they were purchased at."
According to USA Today, Knoll told the Associated Press that "it wasn't a good time" for the performance in wake of all of the allegations that are currently plaguing Cosby and his image.
Also canceled is the comedian's April 11 show at the Virginia Theater in Illinois. Joe DeLuce, Executive Director for the Champaign Park District, says that the theater's decision was not mutual. He told USA Today, "We made the call because we felt with increasing allegations, for our constituents, it was inappropriate to move forward with the show."
As of Friday, two more women have come forward with reports that Cosby sexually assaulted them in the past. The actor's lawyer, Marty Singer, said that the claims have now "reached the point of absurdity."
