Find Out Why Judge Joe Brown Was Banned From the Courtroom

The TV personality has fallen on hard times.

Judge Joe Brown, the former television personality who has presided over many a case on the airwaves, has been forced to put down his gavel and exit the courtroom.
An order from the State Supreme Court of Tennessee says that Brown has been temporarily banned from practicing law in the state after a series of incidents, which include a bizarre courtroom outburst last September that landed him in jail for five days.

According to The Commercial Appeal (via the Associated Press) and production company Celebritunity, the ban is over health reasons.
Brown has reportedly been placed on disability inactive status, which designates that a lawyer is temporarily disabled and incapacitated from practicing law. Lawyers can resume practice when they prove to the court that the disability has been removed. Celebritunity adds that Brown is suffering from complications from type II diabetes “and the effects of prescribed medication for the condition combined with hypertension and stress.”

Brown unsuccessfully ran for Shelby County district attorney in 2014. He was jailed for five days last September for contempt of court stemming from an outburst in Juvenile Court in March 2014, which some witnesses pegged as Brown's passionate appeal on behalf of some victims.

Hopefully Brown will get the rest he needs and return to court healthier than ever.
