Shade! Shonda Rhimes Slams The Emmys

She always keeps it real.

The Emmys made history last night by finally honoring African-Americans in the directing and writing categories for comedy, but not everyone was here to praise the award shows. Shonda Rhimes had a serious clap back.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the mogul was happy for the wins of Donald Glover, Riz Ahmed, and Sterling K. Brown — and Lena Waithe, who became the first Black woman to win for comedy writing. Rhimes said, "I had just seen her on Friday. She’s so even-keeled and so grounded." However, Shonda had some other thoughts on the historic wins.

"It's embarrassing, frankly," she continued. "To me, it feels embarrassing that we are still in a place in which we still have to note these moments... I'm hoping that it's not a trend. I'm hoping that people don't feel satisfied because they saw a lot of people win, and then think that we're done."

Tell it like it is, ShondA!
