Kevin Hart Just Made History

This is a big one.

Kevin Hart is having the best month ever.

Soon after the release of his stand-up comedy film, it was announced by Forbes that he has surpassed Jerry Seinfeld as the highest-paid comedian of 2016.

This is a big deal as ever since Forbes began reporting on the highest-paid comedians, Seinfeld has been named the top earner, until now. Though he raked in another $43.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016, it wasn't quite enough to snag the top spot away from Hart, who raked in a whopping $87.5 million in that time period.

Not only did that amount make him the highest-paid comedian of 2016, but it also landed him at No. 6 on the Celebrity 100.

Several factors come into play when considering the $87.5 million he earned. From his extensive tour schedule — which saw him perform more than 100 shows during just a 12-month period, earning an average of more than $1 million at each venue — to his various starring roles in blockbuster films like Secret Life of Pets and Central Intelligence, Kevin's a force to be reckoned with.

Elsewhere on the list are Dave Chappelle (No. 6), Amy Schumer (No. 4), John Bishop (No. 10), and more.
