Camille Cosby Just Dodged a Major Bullet

She's doing better in court than her husband.

Camille Cosby won't have to give a deposition for the lawsuit against her husband Bill Cosby after all. A judge ruled in favor of a temporary delay after an emergency hearing in which Camille asked for an appeal of the court's initial decision that she has to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about her philandering husband.
The TV icon's wife believes she shouldn't be forced to testify against her husband, while a Massachussets court has found that because of her dual role as wife and business manager, there was virtually no chance she had no idea about his predatory activities.

Camille is allegedly so desperate to stay out of this lawsuit that her lawyers even reached out to attorneys for the plaintiffs — seven of the 50-plus women who have accused Cosby of rape — asking if they would voluntarily agree to a postponement. They didn't. In fact, the plaintiffs even said they would drag Camille to court at the hands of U.S. Marshalls if necessary.
Thankfully, the judge did her a solid by giving her a little extra time to get her appeal in order. Camille's fear of being deposed is understandable — who even knows how many secrets she has to spill?

In the emergency motion, Camille's attorneys also pointed out the public circus aspect of the trial and how it could affect the Cosbys. "Plaintiffs have indicated that they intend to disclose Mrs. Cosby's deposition testimony, including her private marital conversations, to the press," the motion says. "In his Order, the Magistrate has suggested that the Plaintiffs may ask Mrs. Cosby about the most intimate details of her marital life, including her husband's sexual 'proclivities.' ... Plaintiffs have made clear that they will publicize all such testimony."

At this point, the Cosbys probably wish for the days in which the Cosby Show star's downfall was just a public relations nightmare and not a legal one. Catch up with the latest on the scandal in the video above.
