Here's What God Said to Tracy Morgan After His Accident

Comedian talks near-death experience during coma.

Tracy Morgan has been doing a lot of self-reflecting after suffering a near-fatal car crash in 2014, and now, the actor and comedian is revealing that he actually came closer to death than most people realize.

In a recent interview with Complex, Morgan said, he "went to the other side" while he was in a coma for two weeks, and God gave him a personal message. "This is not something I'm making up," he insisted. "Do you know what God said to me? He said, 'Your room ain't ready. I still got something for you to do.' And here I am, doing an interview with you."

Morgan went on to say that the experience changed him fundamentally. "You're never going to be normal after you go through something like that. You don't die for a few weeks and then come back to normal, trust me," he said. "Something's going to be missing, something's going to be gained — you just got to live your life after that. But after surviving something like that, I'm probably never going to feel normal."

Now, experiences he previously took for granted, like hosting Saturday Night Live, he said, feel "special."

"There was so much goodwill and I felt that energy, like, 'Yo, we happy you alive!' It wasn't like they were looking for laughter, no. 'We just happy you alive and you're here walking,' And that made it special for me," Morgan explained. "I just want to give it back through my sense of humor."

For example, he'd consider a return of his Martin character, Hustle Man, as the face of a new restaurant. "Nobody in the world can make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches like me. Or grilled cheese," he said, before refusing to give up any recipes.

Not even for chitlin' loaf, Hustle Man? "There was a little Lawry’s in there," he admitted. "Little paprika."
