One Estranged ‘Married To Medicine’ Couple Is Giving Their Marriage Another Shot

They've had a change of heart.

Several couples from the popular Bravo reality series Married to Medicine have expressed in the latest season that their marriages have been struggling to survive, with one of them even going as far as to file for divorce.

However, the couple in question has had a change of heart, deciding to hit the "pause" button on the process to work on their union.

Dr. Simone Whitmore and her husband, Cecil Whitmore, announced earlier this year that they planned to go their separate ways after 21 years of marriage.

However, in an interview with People, Dr. Simone explained that they're not giving up just yet.

"We agreed we would get in counseling and stay in counseling to see if we could work it out," she told the publication.

The couple also revealed in the recently aired final part of the three-part season five reunion of the show that they would put their divorce on hold to work on patching up their marriage.

"For me, I'm not going back to the way it was," she added. "Neither one of us were happy. So we can't go back to the old dysfunctional relationship that we had. I won't do it. We're trying to establish something new — something better — that's fulfilling for both of us where we are both feeling love and enjoying one another's company."

The Whitmores stand as the longest married couple on the show and have appeared to be inseparable in its earlier seasons. However, as the OB-GYN explained, with time, they drifted apart to the point where they were living in separate houses.

It's refreshing to see the two express interest in wanting to work things out. We wish them the best of luck.
