Effie Brown Upgrades From Matt Damon

She's partnered up with a major filmmaker you may know.

Remember Effie Brown, who was rudely silenced by Matt Damon during a segment on the HBO series Project Greenlight? Well, she's moved on up to bigger and better things. The esteemed filmmaker just landed an impressive new gig at Lee Daniels Entertainment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, details on her first project are already in the works. The Dear White People producer is set to be filming a Fox pilot starring Queen Latifah about a group of girls trying to make it big in the music industry.

"In my opinion, Lee Daniels is a cultural icon," she said. "I'm really happy to be here because part of Lee Daniels's brand is that he does value diversity in front of as well as behind the camera."

It seems as Brown is exactly where she wants to be as her recent clash with Damon surrounded his disagreement that there needed to be more diversity in media. Congratulations to Effie on her amazing new job!
