Dre touched on the incident where Knight showed up during a filming of a promo trailer for the movie in January that led to a business associate being killed. "I was there. But I was just leaving, so I didn't know what happened until I was halfway home," he said. "I heard about it over the phone. Everybody was supportive everywhere we went, and we didn't have one issue throughout the entire filming of the movie. It's crazy that this happened during the f*****g filming of the commercial."

Knight's involvement resulted in him being possibly sentenced to life in prison if convicted. Most recently, a judge refused to lower his bail from $10 million. His former music associates still don't quite know what to make of the situation. "It's just a really unfortunate incident," Dre said. "Maybe [Knight] was looking for trouble. I don't know."

Before wrapping up the interview, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre shared their plans to reunite and promote the film through a music tour overseas with the hopes of bringing Eminem and Kendrick Lamar along. Though nothing is set in stone, it's still a possibility. "We don't have anything settled yet with everyone's schedules," said Donna Langley, Universal's chief. "But we think it can create a lot of buzz."
